From the outset, JS Rasmussen and Co sought to expand their revenue by entering into licensed manufacturing agreements. This started with industrial motors in 1920 but quickly expanded into motorcycle production. This brochure from the French Societe Industrielle et Commerciale (SIC) showcases the entire DKW range available in France in 1924, sold under the SIC brand name, including the original auxiliary bicycle motor. In Germany by this time, the Lomos motor scooter had been withdrawn from the range. The premier model is the new Stahlmodel, called the "Audax" in French, which would later prove to be relatively unsuccessful due to the weakness of the pressed steel frame. SIC also manufactured their own range of bicycles. It's interesting to see that all these machines were available under hire-purchase arrangement. DKW was a pioneer of purchase on credit, which helped the company expand its sales.
