1953 DKW Japanese Advertisement
This is from a very rare Japanese export brochure dating from late 1953 to early 1954. The advertisment notes the car comes in two-cylinder or three-cylinder engine configurations. For a brief period towards the end of 1953, DKW introduced the three cylinder 900cc engine as an option for the DKW F89P for the export market. This proved such a popular option that the car was redesignated the F91 model and the twin-cylinder F89P with four speed gearbox was downgraded to a budget model. The F89P remainded on sale until early 1954 in certain export markets, before being superseded entirely by the F91.
