1963 DKW F12 Marketing Pack
We thank you very much for your interest in our new model, the DKW F 12 and allow us to enclose detailed documents about this in this letter.
The DKW F 12 is the car for the buyer who has high expectations. The elegant, modern body. The backbone of the DKW F12 is the box-section frame. It is the foundation of safety for the occupants and ensures a long service life for the vehicle.
The speed-insensitive, valveless three-cylinder engine with 900 cc displacement is equipped with the automatic fresh oil system, which guarantees economical consumption of lubricants. Fresh, unused oil is always supplied to all lubrication points in the engine. The smooth running of the engine determines the low noise level in the vehicle, which ensures fatigue-free driving. The continuous output is 40 HP according to DIN, 45 HP according to SAE at only 4300 revolutions per minute. It is transmitted directly to the front wheels via the fully synchronized four-speed transmission and gives the car elasticity in all traffic situations.
Sophisticated front-wheel drive, a low centre of gravity and the progressive suspension system give the DKW F12 the famous DKW road handling: safe driving behaviour in all weather and road conditions, especially in rain, snow and black ice.
Disc brakes on the front wheels can withstand repeated hard braking and long downhill journeys without any noticeable reduction in braking power. The car offers 5 people plenty of space without a disturbing floor tunnel. The luxurious furnishings, combined with a balanced colour range, are largely tailored to your personal taste.
The large trunk can accommodate a lot of luggage, even for long journeys, without compromising driving comfort and convenience in the passenger compartment. The standard equipment has a high standard of quality that is usually only found in vehicles in much higher price ranges. The steel crank roof, which can be installed in the factory upon request and at an additional cost, offers even more comfort.
The automatic SAXOMAT clutch can be installed upon request and at an additional cost. This makes the clutch unnecessary, driving even easier, even more comfortable.
The AUTO UNION-DKW customer service, which is excellently organized all over the world, will always provide you with courteous and professional support. The inexpensive spare parts system ensures that your DKW F12 is always ready to drive.
The DKW F12 has low operating costs and is undemanding in terms of maintenance and care. The annual tax is DM 130, the minimum liability is DM 262. Particularly important: the DKW F12 only needs an inspection every 10,000 km.
