1944 DKW NZ350 Motorcycle Parts List

The NZ350 motorcycle was introduced in 1938. It was powered by a single cylinder 350cc two-stroke motor with Schneurle reverse scavenging and twin exhausts, generating 11.5 horsepower. Early models had a hand gear change on the right, but a foot gear change was later implemented. The NZ350 was popular motorcycle and a strong exporter. Despite its success in the German market, the Werhmacht did not consider it for military use as they had reservations about two-stroke motors. Nevertheless, the demands the war put on the German army led the Werhmacht to adopt the type as a dispatch riders bike in 1940. The aluminium tank sides, chrome exhausts and all the brightwork was replaced with cast iron and painted aluminum.

The NZ350-1 (military version) saw service on all fronts during the war. Below is a 1944 parts list of all versions from 1939 to 1944.

The DKW NZ350 production line was later removed from Chemnitz and re-established in the Russian city of Izvesk. The Russian version, the IZH 350, was equally popular and a successful seller. Versions would remain in production until 2008.
