The need for foreign currency meant IFA actively marketed the new F9 model in overseas markets. It is interesting to compare the engine bay of these early IFAs with the DKW F91 that would follow in 1954. Not the placement of the spark plugs on the side of the head. The engine would undergo a raft of changes over coming years.
